Remediation may be required as the result of a low score on the ATI TEAS聽test, a low Success Score, or as a condition of possible re-admission. There are several courses of remediation that are recommended depending on the cause. Classes that may be required include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Nursing Sciences M16: Study Skills for the Nursing Student
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course
- Math M03 (Intermediate Algebra)
- HS M19 Medical Terminology
- HS M15 Pharmacology
- Reading Remediation (Student Lingo self-study program)
- Math Remediation (Student Lingo self-study program)
Not all of the above classes will be required of all students.
All science聽prerequisites must聽be completed within聽seven years of application date.聽
If you score below 62% on the TEAS V test and/or have a Success Score < 55%, you will be sent a letter by certified mail that outlines your individual remediation plan. Your application will not be considered until all classes have been completed with a grade of C or better. When you complete your remediation, submit all documenting paperwork, such as official聽transcripts, to the Health Sciences office. Documents should be clearly marked 鈥淩emediation鈥.
All remediation must be completed by the time of notification of聽conditional acceptance. Completion of the remediation process is not a guarantee of admission to the Nursing Program.
