No, citizenship status is not a requirement for admission. However, California residency or AB 540/AB 2000 eligibility is required for in-state tuition. You can visit the听Admissions and Records office website to determine your Residency Status. You may also utilize the听听to determine if you qualify for in-state tuition.听听

When completing the 精东影业 online application for admission, you will be asked to provide your citizenship status information.听听

If you identify as a DACA recipient, use your DACA Social Security Number, and under the citizenship section select 鈥渙ther.鈥 For visa type, select 鈥渙ther.鈥 Then, enter the date your DACA was issued and the expiration date.听听

How do I apply for AB 540/AB 2000 status to pay for in-state tuition?听听
If you identify as a DACA recipient, you can potentially be reclassified as a CA Resident. Download, read, fill out, gather the documents requested and submit the听Residency Reclassification Request听to the Admissions & Records office from your @my.vcccd.edu email to Kelly Little, our AB 540 liaison in Admissions and Records, to听klittle@vcccd.edu. As mentioned, you will require supporting documentation and should only be submitted if you meet听all of听the following criteria:听听

You currently hold an immigration status (like DACA) that is eligible to establish California Residency and you have had (or applied for) that status at least 366 days prior to the start of the term.听听

You have been physically present in California with the intent to make California your home for other than a temporary purpose at least a year day prior to the start of the term.听听
If you don鈥檛 meet the above-mentioned criteria, you may still be eligible to have your non-resident tuition waived. Download, read, fill out, gather the documents requested and submit the听California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request: AB540 Affidavit听to the Admissions & Records office from your @my.vcccd.edu email to Kelly Little, our AB 540 liaison in Admissions and Records, to听klittle@vcccd.edu. Submit the form along with a picture/scan/PDF of your high school transcript.听听

What do I do if I am classified as an undocumented student and my immigration status changes?听听
If you or your family have taken steps to obtain or legalize your status (e.g. permanent resident, asylum, family unity program, etc.), you may also apply for in-state tuition fees under California. Through this process you would then be eligible for state aid, provided you meet any additional requirements set forth by those programs.听听

What is ITIN?听听
The ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) is a tax processing number, issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), for certain resident and non-resident aliens, their spouses, and their dependents. It's a nine-digit number beginning with the number 鈥9鈥 and is formatted like听a听SSN (example: 9XX-XX-XXXX). For more information visit the听.听听

Can I apply for financial aid?听听
Some听students who are听undocumented and come from mixed status families听are eligible for state tuition through the California Dream Act.听Students who are听undocumented and come from mixed status families听are not eligible for federal financial aid through FAFSA.听If you meet the criteria for听AB540/AB2000听and have had your non-resident tuition waived, apply for financial aid by submitting the听online.听听

Are undocumented students eligible for scholarships?听听
Students who are undocumented and come from mixed status families听are eligible for scholarships听as long as听they meet the scholarship criteria. Some college scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, or financial need, or other criteria. There are many private organizations that award scholarships based upon a variety of criteria. You can also visit our scholarship tab for听scholarship opportunities.听听

Does my current immigration status limit my choice of certificates at Moorpark?听听
There may be some degrees and certificates that will require additional licensure and certification requirements. It is important for students to be aware of the requirements prior to choosing a degree or certificate program. Meet with an academic counselor to get help choosing your courses and solidifying your educational plan. Visit the听Counseling Office鈥檚 website听to get in contact with a counselor. We encourage all students to schedule at least one Counseling appointment per semester.听听

What kind of documentation do I need to get a 精东影业 student ID card?听听
Currently registered students can purchase a 精东影业 ID online via their听MyVCCCD听portal. Just log in to听, click on the "Register / Pay" tab, navigate to the "Payment and Payment Plans" window, and click on the link that says "Purchase Student Photo ID." Students who prefer to purchase their ID cards while on campus can visit the Student Business Office to do so. Check out the听Student Business Office's webpage听for its hours of operation and contact information.听听
After you have paid for the ID, bring your receipt (printed either from your听MyVCCCD听portal or from the Student Business Office) to the Student Activities Office to have your photo taken and your ID card printed on the spot. The Student Activities Office is in the听Campus Center, across from the Bookstore.听听
An ID card purchased for use for only one semester is $10, and an ID card purchased for use over the entire academic year is $15.听
