The VITA program has operated for over 50 years. VITA sites��work directly with the IRS to offer��free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:

• Households who generally make $67,000 or less

• Persons with disabilities; and

• Limited English-speaking taxpayers

You can have your taxes prepared while you wait on the Moorpark campus or virtually through a secure web-based portal.�� We will also have drop off and pick up options.��

VITA looks great on your resume and teaches you basics of your own tax return, but also communication and organization skills that make you much more marketable to a potential employer.�� Many professionals in the Accounting and Business fields participated in the VITA program in college.��

At Moorpark you have THREE options to participate in VITA:

1- Enroll in the 3 unit class
(ACCT M51 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance VITA)

2- Participate in a 1, 2 or 3 unit internship
(M80 Accounting Internship)

3- OR volunteer in this great program.
